Auditing a course requires a Course Enrollment Permission Form with the permission of the instructor and the permission of the college office (obtained by submitting to CFAES Academic Programs).Grades based upon the following system of marking are the only authorized grades to be used on the Official Class Roll and Grade Report Form. ![]() Students cannot audit a course and then later repeat the course for a grade. Instructional fees are assessed for auditing a course, but no credit hours are awarded. Students may wish to audit a course to refresh material or to learn more about a subject without earning a letter grade. A PE grade is equivalent to a D+ or D and is not accepted to meet a program or course requirement of a C- or better. Unlike Pass/Non Pass, this grading scheme affects only specific earned letter grades and is applied to all students in terms when enacted (does not require a petition/permission). Pass Emergency (PE / NP)Ī grading scheme was developed in Spring of 2021 to be enacted in semesters where adverse events impact the academic performance of the student body. These grading schemes apply to their respective semesters only. The University enacted unique Pass / No Pass grading schemes in Spring 2020 and Autumn 2020 semesters due to a global health emergency. See the Registrar's Important Dates calendar for deadlines Students must select the pass/non-pass option on the Course Enrollment Permission form, obtain approvals, and submit to CFAES Academic Programs by the 4th Friday of a term in order to use the option.Students must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA to use the pass/non-pass option.CFAES students may not take general education, major, minor, or prerequisite courses pass/non-pass (this includes "major electives" or "minor electives").Permits a student to take a maximum of 20 credit hours of free electives on a pass/non-pass (PA/NP) basis.If the work is not made up by the due date, the “I” mark will be changed to the alternate grade the instructor reported without the completed assignments. Incomplete work must be completed no later than the 6th week of the following semester. When you receive this grade, you must consult with the instructor as soon as possible to make arrangements for completing the course requirements. Points are not awarded for the following marks: EMĪn "I" indicates that a student has completed a major portion of the work in the course in a satisfactory manner, but for legitimate reasons judged by the instructor, some course requirements remain outstanding. If illness or an emergency prevents you from finishing a course, you may request an “Incomplete” from the instructor. ![]() Students earn no points for an E, or grades of EN or NEN (which indicate students stopped attending the class), but the hours for these marks are calculated into the cumulative grade point average.
